part 3 of our longest day... the payoff!

---------
NOTE:
This is a continuation of part 2 from the morning we tried to get to the gameshow the first time
---------

...we last left our adventurers just outside of a coffee shop on their way down a long windy road in Narita. Anita and Marc had found a small enclosed park with some neat stone tablets and a tiny shrine in it. not sure what Marc is pointing at but here's another pic of it.

just outside the park and past another bend in the road (there are a lot of twists and bends in this one), Anita finds her next birthday present! [jackie: hint-hint]

a little more walking ensues and marc spots this neat little garden:

more meandering:

uh oh, now we've found the part of town where they sell food items. not in pictures but on video anita has captured us picking out and trying an orange looking bakery treat from a really big shop and finding it stuffed with pumpkin - kinda yummy, kinda weird taste in your mouth. further down the street to cleanse the pallet marc finds something on a stick:

he licks it of course:

excellent, a nice simple rice cake coated in soy sauce, perfect pallet cleanser - got lucky. didn't try the fresh eel waiting to be cooked but next time.

ok, so finally after one of the turns, something comes into view

now that looks like a temple and some grounds. we walk a bit further down to the main entrance:

on our way in Anita strikes her new favorite pose:

hands are rinsed before ascending

and we start to climb through an awesome pond area

and there's that pose again!

ok, i know i can be a bit long winded, but we're getting there:

and my favorite pic of anita so far:

now i'll just let the pictures do the talking to finish up this post. apparently this day will need to be told in 4 postings to tell the whole story since this doesn't finish it. more later, enjoy the pix...

Thanks for taking so many pics! Nice to see you're both still alive with all your limbs!
